This treaty should be ratified and brought into effect everywhere in the world by the beginning of 2010 -- two years sooner than presently contemplated. The pace of our response must be accelerated to match the accelerating pace of the crisis itself... So let us renew [our political will], and say together: "We have a purpose. We are many. For this purpose we will rise, and we will act.'
この条約は、2010年初頭には、世界中の国々で批准され発効することが求められています。それは予定されているよりも２年早いスケジュールです。温暖化の危機が加速している現状では、我々の対応のペースも加速させなければなりません。「我々の政治的意思」を再確認し、共に言いましょう：「我々は目的を持っています。我々は多数です。この目的のために立ち上がり、そして行動します」と。
